Smuttynose Island is one of the Isles of Shoals, located in the Atlantic Ocean six miles off the coast of New Hampshire. My partner, Nancy Grace Horton, and I are part of The Stewards of Smuttynose Island. Each year we spend at least a week on the uninhabited, 27-acre island, tending to the grounds and the two buildings, and welcoming visitors. I draw and paint as much as possible, capturing views of Smuttynose and the nearby islands.

Most of the paintings below will be part of my August 2018 show at the Kennedy Gallery, Market Street, Portsmouth.
